A Variety of Technologies for the Emission-free Mobility of Tomorrow
The International Engine Congress 2025 in Baden-Baden discusses the future of the combustion engine and the growing importance of e-fuels
(Duesseldorf, December 5, 2024)
How much future does the combustion engine still have in view of the goal of decarbonizing the transport sector? What significance will e-fuels have for a sustainable reduction in CO2 emissions, including in existing fleets? What are the advantages of allowing technological diversity in the mobility of tomorrow? The 12th International Motor Congress will focus on highly topical questions. Decision-makers and experts from engine developers and fuel specialists from all over the world will come together in Baden-Baden on February 25 and 26, 2025.
In light of the political decision to allow the approval of new combustion engines in the EU even after 2035 if they are powered by non-fossil fuels, there is a great need for discussion and action. The International Engine Congress will therefore not only deal with the technical potential of the combustion engine, but will also focus in particular on the topic of fuel and the prospects that could open up for e-fuels in the coming years. The top-class lecture program, which is already available online, promises new insights into the current state of scientific research and the developments of car manufacturers and suppliers.
Key Topics of the Engine Congress
With close links between passenger car and commercial vehicle engine developers and fuel experts, the congress promotes the international exchange of experience. The main topics in 2025 include:
- CO2-neutral combustion engines from a global perspective
- CO2 recycling as a key issue for reFuels
- reFuels from an investor's perspective
- Further development potential and sustainability of the combustion engine
- Hydrogen and other sustainable energy sources
- Legal and technological changes in the markets
A top-class panel discussion will also be dedicated to the topic of “The new market-focused role of the combustion engine in climate protection”.
Accompanying Trade Exhibition
The lecture and discussion program will be rounded off by an accompanying trade exhibition, which will provide information on innovative products and services. The popular evening event offers interesting discussions in a relaxed atmosphere as well as many opportunities for networking.
