The 22nd VDI Conference "Reifen Fahrwerk Fahrbahn" (Tyres Chassis Road) is an established meeting point for automotive experts and development engineers working in the fields of tires and chassis. Here, you will get firsthand insights into the latest innovations in tire and chassis development as well as road infrastructure. You will learn, among other things, how chassis assistance systems interact with the chassis and tires, how simulations and Artificial Intelligence (AI) help reduce development times, and how to measure and assess tire-road particulate emissions. The conference is an established meeting point. Since 2024, all presentations will be held in English, allowing us to address an international audience and invite them to our event.

Mobility in Transition

Digitalization and decarbonization are the two major drivers of profound change in all sectors, including mobility. The advances in (partially) autonomous driving and the increasing electrification of powertrains are also changing the development of chassis and tires, as well as road construction. In addition, environmental aspects such as tire wear and brake dust are being increasingly discussed in the public domain. The tire and chassis community is called upon to develop new solutions together and optimize communication.

The VDI Conference "Reifen Fahrwerk Fahrbahn" is the meeting point for leading experts from industry and research. Representatives from relevant companies, research institutes, and universities meet every year at the conference to exchange the latest insights.

Are you an expert in the field of tires, chassis, and roads? Then we warmly invite you to actively participate in our conference. Submit an abstract and present your expertise to a professional audience. Receive direct feedback and discuss new solutions with industry experts.

Focus Areas of the VDI Conference

The VDI Conference "Reifen Fahrwerk Fahrbahn" covers the following topics:

  • Driver assistance systems with tire/chassis/road interaction
  • Performance/Driving safety through innovative tire chassis/road systems
  • Innovative development methods in simulation and testing
  • Rolling resistance optimization via tires/chassis/road interaction
  • Sustainable tire production (including recycling)
  • Wear and emissions reduction for tires and brakes (including durability)
  • Weight reduction on tires and chassis
  • Driving dynamics and driving comfort
  • Road concepts, road of the future
